If you happen to be controlling the board with your blue based deck, he can draw a bunch of cards, giving you even better odds of keeping the game in control. You're forced to make more difficult decisions if your opponent has creatures on the board by the time turn three rolls around. I was told not getting optimum value out of cards is a bad thing. I think it was a guy that attends 20 PTQ's a year and never wins. You're better off giving up when faced with adversity. Drawing one card and saving yourself some life doesn't sound fun at all.
